Alupro metals transformations recycling campaign

Our success with our transformation campaigns has been extended to Northern Ireland. You may remember our BCME cans and our Shropshire plastics recycling campaigns. These campaigns have proved to be popular and this was further reinforced when we were approached by Alupro to work in Northern Ireland to cover the arc 21 group of local authorities.

Alupro, the Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation, represents the leading aluminium packaging producers and reprocessors in the UK. They are working to help this industry exceed government aluminium recycling targets by working with industry, waste processors, local authorities and the recycling sector.

arc21 is a partnership of 11 local authorities in Northern Ireland centred around Belfast. To see some of the other work we have done with them in the past visit the arc21 case study.

In this project we adapted the transformation project to cover the major aluminium products produced by the members of Alupro. Items were once again photographed in house to make sure the results were perfectly consistent. The designs included an initial leaflet and a follow up version. These were designed to target the entire arc21 area and were delivered using the Royal Mail Door to Door service.

To further reinforce the message we created vehicle livery for the collection vehicles across all 11 local authorities. Obviously, with the wide and varied types and dimensions of the vehicles across the district this meant adapting the artwork for a large number of sizes and ratios.

This has been a great project to roll out to an area of about 460,000 households – this should give a good indication what impact this will have on the tonnage of cans collected.  We will let you know as soon as we get the results.
